Skyline trailer
This has been getting bad reviews ... not sure why ... it's your typical alien invasion flic with updated effects. Decent enough.

3D is in
It only takes a couple of billion to be raked in for everyone to jump on the bandwagon. Clash of the Titans and the Harry Potter films will now be released in 3D. Thanks a lot Avatar!
I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic about this -- but I am worried. Greed has a funny way of fucking things up. The plan is to take movies shot in 2D and convert them to 3D. Sure, it can be done, but it has only been done on select scenes in previous movies. Now, to take an entire movie and convert it to 3D -- what makes them think it will be Avatar? Which was shot in 3D?
I guess I can always just go and see it in 2D.
But probably not.

High school Spider-man
Something is horribly wrong here. Maybe it's because I don't want to see movies with high-school aged characters anymore -- or maybe it's the whole Twilight saga that has me worried. Every movie that is made with high-school aged characters recently is pablum for the intellectually challenged. Not that Spider-man was anything intellectual to begin with -- but at least, it treated its audience as grown-ups. I'm afraid for the Twilightization of Spider-man because it will be one less superhero flick I'll actually want to see.

Yes, it continues to amaze me that people getting paid lots of money, to spend lots of money, produce shit. Sitting in a theatre, before the main event, I often find myself squirming at the trailers being shown. They could have just not make some movies, put the money in the bank and accrue interest. At least, that would have been profitable.
in reference to:"Nothing about this movie is even slightly reminiscent of the series it was based on. Characters don’t look anything like their anime counterparts, battles are wholly anti-climactic, and why the piss fuck is Goku in high school? Why! You think we couldn’t identify with an all powerful alien who vowed to protect the earth? You think we needed Edward Cullen all over again! This movie appealed to no one. To NO ONE! Box office numbers for this movie were abysmal! Movie fans didn’t like it, action fans didn’t like it, kids didn’t like it, hell even hardcore fans of the original anime didn’t like it, and yet somehow … SOMEHOW … this movie is getting a sequel. WHAT THE FUCK!?!"
